Introducing your troop to the wonders of the outdoors couldn't be easier!
Whether you’re a camping pro, or just starting out, you can help campers of all ages have a positive experience in the great outdoors.
Progression allows girls to learn the skills they need to become competent in the outdoors, including how to plan and organize outdoor activities. Acknowledge a girl’s mastery of an outdoor skill and invite her to challenge herself further by taking that next step up and out! Outdoor fun can be endless when girls lead.

When preparing for any activity with girls, always begin with the Safety Activity Checkpoints (SACs) written specifically for that particular activity.
Safety Activity Checkpoints provides the standard safety guidelines for Girl Scouts of the USA and council approved activities. In addition to providing volunteers with safety guidelines to ensure the physical and emotional safety of girls, information is also included throughout SACs to ensure equity, diversity, and inclusive thinking when planning Girl Scout activities so all girls with a desire to participate are included.
Your next adventure awaits at one of our beautiful camp properties! Each of our camp properties offers unique experiences and are special places where campers can test the boundaries of their comfort zones and grow into our future leaders!
Being at camp is not only about gaining outdoor skills and friendships - it’s about helping Girl Scouts discover who they are and exploring the world around them. At camp, Girl Scouts realize that anything is possible…and that their next great adventure is just around the corner.

Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana offers a variety of training opportunities for volunteers to prepare for a safe and fun outdoor experience with Girl Scouts. Before venturing outdoors, volunteers are required to have the knowledge and experience to lead a safe and positive camping experience. No matter your camping comfort-level, we have training offerings to meet your needs.
If you are interested in participating in outdoor experiences that require training, we suggest the following options:
Every girl should be able to make lasting memories at summer camp. Financial assistance is available to ensure the same access to outdoor opportunities for all. In every instance the amount requested should reflect the true need of the family. This commitment to providing the leadership opportunities from camp experiences is made possible by the Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund, grants, and individual donors. All financial aid is contingent on dollars available. To apply, visit www.gskentuckiana.org/jslf.
GSUSA created eight outdoor skill-building videos, especially for volunteers newer to Girl Scouts and older Girl Scouts as they take younger girls outside thanks to a grant from the Elliott Wildlife Values Project.
Ultimate Camp Resource is an amazing database full of activity plans and resources for camp games (everything from nature games to large group), camp songs, camp skits, team building!
